Agios Nikolaos is a picturesque fishing village of Messinian Mani and is quite a popular destination for vacations. It belongs to the municipality of Lefktros of Messinia. It is located 30km. southeast of Kalamata, 6km south of Stoupa and is surrounded by the Messinian Gulf.

St. Nicholas is the fishing village of the area of Ichthioskala and for that reason it is famous for its delicious fishes. It has many taverns and restaurants with traditional cuisine. In a distance of 500 meters from the village are the hills of Agia Paraskevi from where the views of the sea, the lacy beaches, the scattered boats in the sea and the houses along the area are simply breathtaking.

Agios Nikolaos has beautiful beaches and scenic cliffs and sandy beaches and attracts large numbers of bathers.

Starting from the village you can explore the magnificent mountain of Taygetos, meet the towers of Mani, the churches, the villages with the beautiful streets and the canyons of Virou and of Ridomos.
You can also visit Stoupa, where Nikos Kazantzakis was inspired for his book "Life and Times of Alexis Zorbas", and the cobbled streets of Kardamyli, the ruins of a medieval castle and of ancient fortifications.
